Shinagawa South Ice Cave

*Copied from Talavaj’s thread in Marvelous forums

Ice Cave is a small dungeon located in Shinagawa, the dungeon works much like Shibuchika in that there are no gold~bronze runs and the dungeon does not require any plates. (although lvl 30+, C license and a valuable obtained from local Yagiya is required)
The dungeon has a time limit of 10 minutes, finishing the run faster yields better rewards.
Despite its seemingly low entry requirements the run is very much of a gold run difficulty.
There are two versions of the run, the other one (with Nyx as the boss) can be accessed during new moon.
The dungeon consists of 5 small caves connected by short ledges, the enemies patrolling the ledges do not need to be defeated in order to proceed.
After the third cave a shadow of Norn appears and inflicts various de/buff effects on the player characters or the enemies, these range from harmful miasma (of various affinities), freezing on place (of the enemies, the player characters or both) summoning debuff that forbids summoning of demons, raised resistance to curative effects (-75% curative effect) and buffs to the damage or movement speed of player characters.
During the course of the regular run the players can offer either (or all) of Clotho, Lachesis and Atropos to the plasma, doing so will sacrifice the demon and the corresponding demon will appear in the boss room as the boss companion, raising the difficulty of the encounter and the amount of rewards obtained from it.
The advantage of doing so is questionable, as the effort is not proportional to the reward obtained and it can potentially lead to the run taking longer.
The boss room difficulty of the regular run is slightly below Gold level with the trash mobs having 1000~ HP while the boss Norn has roughly 15k, the trash mobs during the run however are slightly stronger, some reaching nightmare levels however majority of the enemies in the dungeon are spellcasters so with crowd control and proper dodging they aren't too difficult to dispatch.
The enhanced version (if any of the three fates is sacrificed) is significantly harder with the boss having 11k HP more, spin/shot boosters and some powerful spells at her disposal (Tornado, Nervous Edge) and being capable of one-hitting unprepared players.
The new moon version is of similar level coupled with the fact that Nyx(drain) and Hecate(repel) in the boss room cannot be harmed by magic.
Once the boss is defeated, the players are allowed to mine a number of icicles (by simply clicking on them), these can yield various loot content of which depends on what day of the week it currently is.
Finishing the run in shorter time yields better rewards.
Interestingly, players who do not feel like they are capable of clearing the run in time (or at all) can escape it (by backtracking to the nearest door) doing so triggers loot boxes to appear, these contain much worse loot than the boss room (naturally) but can still yield up to 4 sapphires, one Fimbulvetr Crystal Residue or even PG [Norn of Illusions].
Players incapable of clearing the run can in fact still get the plug-ins of Norn and Nyx this way (because they can also be crafted using Fimbulvetr Crystal Residue) but it would take insanely long time (900+ runs) and would also require some expensive components (Leather of Amalthea and Norn of Illusions PG).
Apart from different enemies and the lack of plasma to sacrifice the three fates to, the new moon run is pretty much the same, it is also covered in very thick dark fog that makes it hard to see the incoming enemies (however turning fog off in display options removes it)
Using the CP items Blue Poppy and Grandis makes the run significantly easier and more profitable as they grant +200% Damage versus most mobs found within the instance, negation of the harmful miasma effects and give 4 extra attempts at mining the icicles.
